In the movie Up, the exposition was that Carl Fredrickson and Ellie lived their lives together until one day Ellie dies, leaving Carl alone. Carl felt that he has lost his love. He wanted to fulfill his promise to his wife to go to Paradise Falls.
The rising action in the movie Up is when Carl Fredrickson and a boy named Russel journeys to Paradise Falls in a flying house. A dog, Dug, and a bird, Kevin, also tag along. Carl Fredrickson arrives to Paradise Falls. But Russell runs away to find Kevin because Kevin was kidnapped by Charels M. Muntz.
The climax is when Carl saves Russell, Kevin, and Dug.
The falling action is that Carl realizes that he has found love once again through his friends.
The resolution is that they all go back home and live their happy lives together.
